A widespread web outage has impacted many websites and mobile apps around the world, as users experiencing problems accessing the internet following issues at the web hosting system.
The impacted services include Snapchat, the gaming platform Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, in addition to several Amazon-managed services such as its primary shopping platform and the Ring doorbell doorbell company.
Across the United Kingdom, Lloyds bank was disrupted in addition to its subsidiaries Halifax and the Scottish bank, and further notifications of problems reaching the HM Revenue and Customs site on the start of the week. Also in the UK, many Ring customers used networks to report their security devices were malfunctioning.
Solely in the United Kingdom, accounts of problems on specific apps ran into the thousands for each app.

Cisco’s Thousand Eyes, a platform that tracks internet outages, further indicated a surge in problems on the start of the week, including several cases found in Virginia, the site of Amazon’s US-East-1 region where AWS said the issues began.
